McDonald’s Dubbo: Commercial CCTV Upgrades
Replacing legacy analogue CCTV with modern IP camera systems across multiple franchise locations.
Client Type
Quick Service Restaurant / Franchise
Location
Dubbo, NSW
Scope
CCTV System Replacement
Sites Completed
2 McDonald’s locations
The Problem
Both McDonald’s locations in Dubbo were running legacy analogue CCTV systems. Image quality had degraded to the point where identifying faces or reading number plates was unreliable. The systems were difficult to manage, couldn’t be accessed remotely, and didn’t meet current franchise requirements for coverage and recording retention. In a high-traffic fast food environment with drive-thru, counter, kitchen, and external areas, reliable CCTV is a compliance and liability requirement, not optional.
The Solution
We replaced the analogue systems with modern IP camera infrastructure:
- IP Camera Upgrade: High-definition cameras replacing every analogue unit. Coverage of dining area, counter, kitchen, drive-thru lane, and all external approaches.
- Drive-thru Coverage: Dedicated cameras on the order point, pickup window, and lane approach with night-vision capability for 24-hour operation.
- NVR & Storage: Commercial-grade NVR with sufficient storage for franchise-required recording retention periods.
- Remote Viewing: Full remote access configured for the franchisee to view live and recorded footage from any device.
- Cabling: New Cat6 cable runs to each camera position, replacing old coax.
